The winners of the Data Smackdown will now compete alongside 19 other EU Member States in the European Statistics Competition.

Participating teams have prepared a video in which they selected, presented and referenced official statistics to support their message on the given topic.

This year’s topic is: Everything was better before! Truth or not?

Many people talk about the “good old days,” where everything was, according to them, better than it is now. There is this nostalgia of the past, which is often paired with a negative or fearful view of the present, and the future. The Teams had to argue whether these statements are true or not? Were things truly better in the past? By making use of official statistical data, the teams had to proof or disproof this claim.
