‘The Good Governance’ award

The United Nations, through its resolution 57/227, recognises the 23rd of June as Public Service Day. The aim behind Public Service Day is to celebrate the value and virtue of the public service to the community.

An awards ceremony event to highlight the achievements of the Public Service in Malta was held at St Elmo on Saturday 21st of June.  Dr Carl Camilleri, the chairman of the Malta Statistics Authority, on behalf of the management and employees of the National Statistics Office (NSO), was honoured to receive the award for Good Governance from Mr Tony Sultana, the Principal Permanent Secretary.

The Good Governance award showcases the NSO’s continuous efforts to develop frameworks to optimise processes, ensure accountability, and enhance transparency, ultimately leading to better performance and public trust.

Mr Etienne Caruana, Director General of the NSO, thanks the Auditor General Mr Charles Deguara for recognising the Office’s efforts and nominating it for this award.
