Quarterly comparison
After adjusting for seasonal effects and the working-day pattern, the total services turnover index increased by 1.8 per cent between the second and third quarters of 2025.
The highest increase in turnover was recorded in transportation and storage (8.5 per cent), followed by professional, scientific and technical activities (5.6 per cent), administrative and support service activities (3.2 per cent), retail trade (2.2 per cent), accommodation and food service activities (2.1 per cent) and information and communication (0.9 per cent). On the other hand, decreases in turnover were registered in real estate activities (3.5 per cent), wholesale trade (3.4 per cent) and motor vehicles trade (2.3 per cent) (Table 1).
Between the second quarter and third quarter of 2025, the number of persons employed (Table 3), gross wages and salaries (Table 5) and hours worked (Table 7) declined by 1.1 per cent, 0.1 per cent and 0.9 per cent, respectively.
Annual comparison
During the third quarter of 2025, the total services turnover index registered an increase of 2.0 per cent on an annual basis after adjusting for the working-day pattern.
Increases were registered in transportation and storage (8.2 per cent), accommodation and food service activities (6.8 per cent), real estate activities (3.7 per cent), retail trade (3.5 per cent), motor vehicles trade (1.6 per cent) and wholesale trade (0.3 per cent). On the contrary, decreases in turnover were recorded in professional, scientific and technical activities (3.0 per cent), information and communication (2.7 per cent) and administrative and support service activities (0.5 per cent) (Table 2).
When compared to the third quarter of 2024, the indicators for the number of persons employed (Table 4), gross wages and salaries (Table 6) and hours worked (Table 8) went up by 1.6 per cent, 3.5 per cent and 0.8 per cent, respectively.
