Quarterly comparison
After adjusting for seasonal effects and the working-day pattern, the total services turnover index increased by 2.0 per cent between the third and fourth quarters of 2025.
The highest increase in turnover was recorded in motor vehicles trade (6.3 per cent), followed by information and communication (5.0 per cent), administrative and support service activities (4.1 per cent), wholesale trade (3.6 per cent), professional, scientific and technical activities (2.5 per cent), accommodation and food service activities (1.3 per cent) and retail trade (1.0 per cent). On the other hand, decreases in turnover were registered in transportation and storage (1.8 per cent) and real estate activities (1.6 per cent) (Table 1).
Between the third quarter and fourth quarter of 2025, the number of persons employed (Table 3), gross wages and salaries (Table 5) and hours worked (Table 7) went up by 1.5 per cent, 2.5 per cent and 1.2 per cent, respectively.
Annual comparison
During the fourth quarter of 2025, the total services turnover index registered an increase of 3.5 per cent on an annual basis after adjusting for the working-day pattern.
Increases were registered in transportation and storage (10.2 per cent), real estate activities (8.3 per cent), accommodation and food service activities (7.6 per cent), retail trade (7.2 per cent), administrative and support service activities (3.7 per cent) and wholesale trade (1.8 per cent). On the contrary, decreases in turnover were recorded in motor vehicles trade (6.4 per cent), professional, scientific and technical activities (2.2 per cent) and information and communication (0.8 per cent) (Table 2).
When compared to the fourth quarter of 2024, the indicators for the number of persons employed (Table 4) and gross wages and salaries (Table 6) went up by 2.5 per cent and 6.2 per cent, respectively. However, hours worked declined by 0.1 per cent (Table 8).
